I'd second Liam's recommendation about watching the network tab.in the
Chrome console and see if the XSD is actually even being read. I'd be
surprised if it was, as even Google's own documentation states that when
validation is required it should be done prior to the XML file being
downloaded, as there's no formal code, I believe, that validates XML beyond
checking for well-formedness.
