But you can move them further left, if you shoot them from the right,
untill they are pushed out of the screen. So if you don't take care of 
them on time and let yourself get trapped, that's your own fault.

Maybe Piero should change the graphics for them. I think making them look
like dead space animals might fit in the story. When the animals catch
the supra leading pearls and accidently get into the energy stream, they
get fried. Now that they are floating around in space, they might get
caught in the cued pearls around your ship. Since your ship is only moving
very closely above the pearls, it might get destroyed by colliding with
the animals. Therefore it is important to push them of the cue by shooting
them with your gun.

If you can shoot an animal carrying a pearl before it gets fried, you
might be able to catch the pearl again. If an animal catches a pearl
out of your sight, you can't do anything but to prepare for a dead
body to get stuck in your peal cue.

Piero, you shouldn't have asked for an updated story. :-)
