How about this.
Using one keypad controller, set up in a standard "telephone" like
configuration.
ABC DEF GHI
1 2 3
JKL MNO PQR
4 5 6
STU VWX YZ.
7 8 9
SPACE ENTER
# 0 *
Press the key once for the number, twice for the first letter,
three times for the second letter, and four times for the third
letter.
Or if that's too much button pressing then use the select and
reset switches for space and enter and enter text like this.
