Hehe, well I myself once announced doing a tutorial 
which never saw the light of day, too.

There's a few remarkable projects that really made it 
somewhere (The Dig, The HTMLized version of the 
programmers guide and yes - your 101!), but they seem to 
be rather the exception than the rule.

I fully understand that, since I myself prefer 
programming over writing any time, just like Mark said.

But that doesn't prevent me from encouraging any attempt 
:-)
