I could suggest one thing since some IRC server like Efnet can be full of
spammer.  Use the key feature to lock out zoomer and spammer bot.  Most bot
don't check the topic for password so it's safe to include it.  I can't
remember how to set the key but entering the locked room is done by /join
#channelname password

Just a suggestion if you feel spammer and zoomer is interfering with the
activity.
