As has been mentioned a bunch on this list, Patola has quoted $0.85 each
for up to 5000 pieces. After dealing with shipping, taxes, marking up for
importing, etc. the per unit price to the public might be up around $2 or
$3. Not too bad, in my opinion. The only immediate downside is the need to
create the custom PCB, but as you can see from
http://www.atariage.com/store/index.php?manufacturers_id=11 that wouldn't
be a problem. All I would need to do it send Patola my payment information
and they can turn around in 2-3 weeks maximum.
The $5 per unit from VGWiz is the same price you can get brand new games
from O'Sheas for (and they still have millions available), so there is no
cost savings there, just a few minutes of time saved by not having to
remove the label.
