Subject: [stella] "asymmetrical" maze in Looping From: Zach Matley <matleyz@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Tue, 16 Sep 2003 23:01:17 -0700 (PDT) |
I bring this up because I've never seen this technique before and thought it terribly clever. Two of the screens in Looping appear to be asymetrical at first glance. Upon closer inspection, you can see what's going on. The kernal changes between duplication and reflection several times per frame. This allows a playfield that is not symmetrical in the strictest sense, and allows sprites to move freely. Are there other Stella games that use this method?
