First off, I'm delighted to hear about the revival of The Dig.
Although we've come some way in tutorials since then, with my 
own and Andrew's Atari Age forum, the Dig was a big help to me.

On the other hand...it could really use a cleaning, or at least 
a marking of the really stuff egregiously ungood to use as a model...

I know not all e-mail respects those fields. (Ok, I should say I
know *my* crappy homebrew webmail doesn't).  It might be easier 
just to throw out Re: and Aw: and [stella]s and then say, if it 
comes more than a month after the previous post w/ the same 
subject it's a new thread.

Or, to simplify even further: don't really thread in tree format
sort by date, but have a link that says "jump to next/prev post
with (mostly) same subject line"...
