A major improvement! I saw your subsequent post of the full screenshots. It looks like the second one is being zoomed by a non-integer factor, which will always look awful without any kind of filtering. I wouldn't say the filtered version looks more like an arcade monitor though. It's easier on the eyes but the pixels are far less distinct than they'd be on an arcade monitor or, indeed, a MAME screen that's been zoomed Nx where N is a positive integer.
