If you're mainly interested in game logic type stuff, go spend $20 on a
486 machine, and dedicate it to running PCAE in DOS.  You'd have to
transfer your .bins between 2 machines, but it's a step up from where
you are now.

BTW, PCAE runs just fine for me under Win2K.  ;)
