I suggest that what you want/need is a bounding sphere collision test on
each character (which is what the Object Slider does, if I remember
correctly) and a more detailed body part test if the bounding sphere
collisions detect a potential collision.
My prior suggestion is/was a 'quick hack' way of quickly implementing the
collision detection within the Dev environment.
