Re: [Virtools] Deploy building block with webplayer?

Hey,

also in reply to Patrick Hogenboom,

first off, yup, I just recently ran into virtools, fell immediately in love
with it
and started making stuff with it. It's great.

Second, your points concerning cashflow is most definitely right. I have
seen a lot (and owned a couple) companies that had great people and
ideas that died because their cashflow wasn't the correct size.

Finally, I got the idea of the swapmeet not taking of because of the low
volume of information on it compared to other developer-communities.
But thinking about it again, it probably is the right size for its kind of
product
and target market.

I already am! It is just that I got annoyed when I found out that users have
to
install DLL's themselves.

Any chance of network connectivity in VSL? Because that is what definitely
is missing.

If that is somewhat of a problem, how to go about making something like
a connectivity pack. I mean, not the coding, as that is a matter of a few
weeks,
but getting it to:
A) Get it on the virtools site, just like the Havok physics engine
B) Making it so that people that use it do not have to redistribute new
dll's.
C) Organize it in such a way that it does not threaten the behavioral server
revenues.

We, my dev team and me, are specialized in large-scale, fail-safe networking
software, which we do for, amongst others, large scale ISP's and financial
institutions,
so sandboxing etc should not be a problem.

Whom should I contact about this?

Good luck with this. One part of my annoyance is that I wanted to use my
login
and pass for the first time on the support pages and they were down...:(

You always grumpy, or just because of the server? Or mayhaps my emails? :)

Regards,
             Adrianus

P.S.
For people still interested in the original problem; the solution is
to make a
'loader' Active X control/self signed java applet which ensures all dll's
are loaded
before the page with the player is being shown.
