This is a documented restriction. I don't use xsl:document (I reverted back to 6.0.2 and saxon:output), because I cannot see any way to write a stylesheet using it that any other processor today will accept. Is there a way? so my problem will go away with final xsl:document, I gather. thats good. Sebastian XSL-List info and archive: http://www.mulberrytech.com/xsl/xsl-list
