BTW, if you have the Adobe Type 1 font set, you might want to look at
type1inst from ftp://sunsite.unc.edu/pub/Linux/X11/xutils/.

It's pretty Unix-specific, but I'm sure you could use it to help with
Ghostscript.

One last point is that I find that I get much better results with jade
+ pdfjadetex rather than jade + jadetex + dvips + ps2pdf.  Plus it's a
lot faster.  I don't know if pdftex is available in your TeX
distribution, however.
