<programlisting> in ps

I just noticed something that I probably should have before. I have
some DocBook markup with code in a <programlisting> when I use jade
with Norman's sheets to produce html I get good looking code (meaning
all indentation has been preserved - it *is* literal) - yet when I use
jade to produce ps or pdf the code is no longer indented as it should
be. Am I missing something trivial or is this a known problem?
