What is 'significantly faster' ? Is it at least 2x faster ? Indeed, with Saxon 4.5, I made some test and the compiled style sheet appeared to compute exactly twice as fast as the interpreted version, so seems to be worth enough. The style sheet I took as example was one you provide with SAXON 'book.xsl'. I strongly believe that compiled style sheet can blast server side processing. On this subject, may I ask you to read an excellent comment from Ray Cromwell posted in Java Lobby (if you haven't yet). Indeed he's raiseing some good question around scalability of XSL processing. Anyway thank for your hard work, it's really valuable for the XSL community.
