Usborne-Hayes "Usborne Introduction To Machine Code For Beginners" Usborne Publishing Inc. Covers the 6502 and Z-80 processors. Covers just the most basic of commands. Has cute drawings of robots. Nice fast read for someone who has never programmed anything (including a VCR) in their life. Fun read actually, but not much detailed information. This book won't make you a Bob Colbert but if you've never programmed a thing in your life it'll get you on the right track. It looks like a kid's hard covered story book. Infact, I can almost picture ultra-nerds reading it to their kids before bedtime... "... and thus the evil stack pointer was defeated. And they compiled happily ever after. The End." Marvin L. De Jong "Programming And Interfacing The 6502, With Experiments" The Blacksburg Continuing Education Series Very detailed, very technical, very dry. Good for learning if you can stay awake. Goes into more detail about the chip than you'll need. Leo J. Scanlon "6502 Software Design" The Blacksburg Continuing Education Series Makes a better quick reference guide than the other book. Still a dull read. It's the book I use the most. Covers 6502 math in more detail. Of course, I'm sure all these books are now quite discontinued, but on the off chance you can still get them here's the address given in the book.. The Blacksburg Group Box 242 Blacksburg VA 24060 (703) 951-9030 In any case... I'd recommend keeping an eye out for either of those books the next time you hit the thrift stores looking for Atari carts. That's where I found mine. -- Accordionist - Wethifl Musician - Atari 2600 Collector | /\/\ http://www.freenet.hamilton.on.ca/~ad329/Profile.html | \^^/ Bira Bira Devotee - FES Member - Samurai Pizza Cats Fan| =\/= -- To unsubscribe, send the word UNSUBSCRIBE in the body of a message to stella-request@xxxxxxxxxxx
