Agreed.  There's Tetris, and then there are those Tetris clones that are a
little more than Tetris.  Like the arcade version, for example... and Tetris
Jr.

In fact, Tetris Jr.'s variation on Tetris would be perfect for the 2600:
it has a one-color, eight-block-wide playfield, and has a few advanced
features that make up for the smaller playfield.  Pick yourself up one
for about US$10 at the Babbage's, or I'd imagine where little keychain
games are sold.  Hope they're available in Europe; they are in Japan and
the U.S.

One could _definitely_ make a prettier version of Tetris than Tetris Jr.
on the VCS, with the same cool features.  And here's the kicker: you can
select a game variation by number, the traditional way for the VCS.

Some of these features include "blinking" blocks that have special functions
and random playfields.  Although you could probably do it one better by
including pre-designed playfields, which I still have yet to see in a VCS,
or even a NES game.
