In article <342d5fff.2255217@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx >Well, the emulators let you step through with a debugger (if the one you're >using doesn't, get a better one... PC Atari 2.0 is excellent) and catch >some of those stupid mistakes :) ~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~ I've got that emulator, but I haven't actually used the debugger. What exactly does it do and how does it do it? ~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~ >You're supposed to only be able to HMOVE at the beginning of the line... >the docs don't say what happens if you don't, though... and the only way to >emulate it correctly is trial and error :) (see the Cosmic Ark starfield) ~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~ I had stuck the HMOVE in my vertical blanking routine so I didn't get the black bar on the screen. It works on the emulator, but not on the real thing. But I've been meaning to do some experimenting with the mysterious 25 cycle rule.
