On Star Raiders: >So did the 400 version come out and become successful before the 2600 >version was released? Yes, I believe the computer version was released in 1979. The 2600 version came out in 1982 or 83 (too lazy to look at my cart ;) >And does anyone know what the thinking was behind the "re-release" >of the number pad with 2600 SR (ie, new design from the programming >pads and then no furhter games, afaik/remember). If you mean why did they bother packing it in *at all*, it's because not everyone had the original Keyboard Controllers. If you mean why did they redesign the controller -- I find it a *lot* easier to use this controller for Star Raiders than the orginal controllers (which are a *lot* smaller than I thought they would be!) -- Stella list is Administered by krishna@xxxxxxxxxxxx <Glenn Saunders> Archives (includes files) at http://www.biglist.com/lists/stella/archives/ Unsub & more at http://www.biglist.com/lists/stella/stella.html +-shameless plugs-------------------------------------------------------+ | Stella documentary at http://www.primenet.com/~krishna | | Nick's VCS links via http://www.primenet.com/~nickb/atariprg.htm | | Write the best game, win framed autographs of famous Atari alumni!! | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+
