Besides the commercial ones, there are NES, SMS and some arcade emulators 
for the PSX; unfortunately the ones that I've tried had serious speed and 
sound problems.
It must not be an easy task to code a good emulator given the slow PSX 
processor.
So it's not a big surprise that someone is working on emus for the PS2. 
Probably we'll get really good emulators for the new console, and more of them.
