I know there are problems with emulation but this floors me.  I would
never have guessed that StellaX would screw up something as
basic as the playfield timing.  I've been too lazy to hook up the
PROM programmer (office layout + ancient burner = 25-ft serial
cable) but I guess it's time.

2 NOPs is not insignificant time -- 12 horizontal player pixels and
3 whole playfield pixels.  Sheesh.
