Subject: [stella] More flicker, please From: "Clay Halliwell" <clay.h@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Sat, 5 Oct 2002 15:53:28 -0500 |
Just a random thought on sprite multiplexing... While playing around with the latest StarFire beta, I noticed something-- the perceptual difference between a solid and on-off flickering sprite appears to be significantly greater than the difference between an on-off and on-off-off flickering sprite. Err, put another way-- when a sprite goes from solid to flickering, it catches your eye more than when it goes from flickering to flickering more. So I wonder if it would be a good idea if multiplexing routines were written so that, even if they have the opportunity to display a sprite solid, they flicker it anyway. Thoughts?
