Well, the Vectrex had 1 DAC that could be routed to a number of places - 
it was used for the X, Y, and intensity values normally (there were 
sample&holds to "latch" the analog voltage).

Anyway, the dac can be routed to the speaker.  Software then has to time 
the samples.
