The idea is good, but that would further increase the space 
between each row. And I want to keep this gap as small as

More sprites? No, I think that's impossible. 

There are six sprites in each row, overlaying the PF/BK colors, 
plus six 8 pixel wide missiles that are blanking the spaces.

What you see, is the nearly finished internal kernal loop. I 
haven't done anything else yet.

But I want to make the playfield scrollable like in Thrust.
