can just use a DSSSL stylesheet on my XML source directly.

Yup! That's what I decided to do myself long ago with my XML-authored training materials.

However, my problem is that XML+DSSSL+Word+Exchange loses hyperlinks ... so my books that have rich XML links end up being monolithic slabs of text without hyperlinks when I publish. The links are just fine in the RTF, but they are lost using Adobe.

I'm forcing my way quickly into XSLFO to see if I can preserve my hyperlinks in my finished products.
