Hi Matt,

We had a similar requirement to link to social media profiles and use
contrib-id. Here are a few examples:

<contrib-id contrib-id-type="orcid">0000-0002-1825-0097</contrib-id>

<contrib-id contrib-id-type="twitter">BillGates</contrib-id>

<contrib-id contrib-id-type="twitter">BillGates</contrib-id>

<contrib-id contrib-id-type="linkedin">williamhgates</contrib-id>

Usually we only capture the unique identifier, but in some content the full
URL is captured.

<contrib-id
contrib-id-type="linkedin">https://www.linkedin.com/in/williamhgates/</contri
b-id>

Hope this helps.

Vincent

Hi Matt,

I suggest you look into whether <ext-link> or <uri> is the most appropriate.

https://jats.nlm.nih.gov/articleauthoring/tag-library/1.3d1/element/ext-link.
html<https://jats.nlm.nih.gov/articleauthoring/tag-library/1.3d1/element/ext-
link.html>

I.e.:
<ext-link
       xlink:href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/donoghue/<https://www.linkedin
.com/in/donoghue/>"
       specific-use="social-media">LinkedIn</ext-link>
<uri
xlink:href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/donoghue/<https://www.linkedin.com/in
/donoghue/>"
       specific-use="social-media">https://www.linkedin.com/in/donoghue/<http
s://www.linkedin.com/in/donoghue/></uri>

Hi there

Apologies if this has been asked before, but I couldn't find it in the
archive. One of our journals has a magazine-style print format, and we allow
authors to include a link to their profile on Twitter, LinkedIn, etc. This
only appears in the print version and PDF at the moment, but I'd like us to be
able to include it in the XML too.
I guess this question could also be relevant for a link to a Publons or Google
Scholar profile or author website.

I wondered about contrib-id, like we use for ORCID, but I'm really not sure.
Any advice would be appreciated!

Yours

Matt
