I'm not sure there's been neglect, exactly. It's more complicated than that.


We might just be about where mobile phone technology was ca. 1985.

I think there's a long way to go still. I don't think that the lack of uptake in the free software community is necessarily an indicator of anything other than the complexity of the task and the excellence of Saxon.

I also think that Mike Kay's having shifted his model to a more "mature" one (if you want the more advanced features you can pay) is a good thing for the market, not just for him. It's an affirmation that the investment is worth something.
