As you have probably noticed yourself, the current version of z26 now supports the booster grip. You read it through INPT0-3. If bit7 of INPT0-3 is high, the button is pressed. If it is low, the button is released. The two buttons on the 7800 controller can't be read seperately on a 2600, so those won't help you for Thrust.
