When you have a separate 7800 list you are only going to have a subset of stella members actively subscribed and reading the discussions there.

The advantage to allowing it here is for it to INCUBATE here. The stellalist members become a captive audience to the threads. I know this may sound bad to some people, but who knows, maybe the 7800 will hook you in in the process, or you'll feel compelled to help out those who ARE hooked just because you are unwittingly getting all those 7800 messages you wouldn't otherwise get (because you might not have subbed to the separate list).

I do recall that we've had 7800-related discussions here in the past, I think related to the encryption scheme it uses, and I don't think there was a major catastrophe as a result...
