Sort of, yes. But while two 2600 programming mailing lists would indeed
be totally redundant, the homebrew forum at AA serves hombrewing from a
totally different perspective.

On [Stella] you get almost zero response to messages without assembly
code. If you want direct feedback from gamers, discuss game design ideas
or need artwork or music, you will only get that from the audience at AA.

What I think goes wrong with the forums at AA is the increasing number
of discussions about hardcore 2600 programming. They are more or less
naturally spawned from Andrews excellent programming lessons there.

In former times I and others didn't discuss any of the "advanced" stuff
there, but rather pointed them to [Stella]. Lately, with [Stella]
becoming more and more unreliable and without a working archive, we more
and more stopped sending people to [Stella] but instead tried to help
'em right where they asked.

Well, to sum it all up:

While I personally would prefer to see the programming and "tech-talk"
return to [Stella], I wouldn't want to miss the feedback from the AA
boards.

What would I suggest for the future?

Hm... I'm for a complete move to AA. Biglist has shown us long enough
that they don't care about us and that we're located at the bottom of
their support priorities.

I'd also suggest that there was some easy subscription to [Stella]
possible straight from the homebrew/programming forums, so that we can
start concentrating the programming discussions on [Stella] again.

I'm not sure if this would be technically possible, but the best of both
worlds would IMHO be a 2 in 1 solution for 2600 programming discussion,
a merger between forum and mailing list, so everyone interested can
either participate via web-forum or mails, just as prefered...

Greetings,
	Manuel
